  Sanskrit language , (from Sanskrit   saṃskṛta , “adorned,   cultivated , purified”), an Old   Indo-Aryan language   in which the most ancient documents are the   Vedas , composed in what is called   Vedic Sanskrit . Although Vedic documents represent the   dialects   then found in the northern midlands of the Indian subcontinent and areas immediately east thereof, the very earliest texts—including the   Rigveda   (“The   Veda   Composed in Verses”), which scholars generally ascribe to approximately 1500   BCE —stem from the northwestern part of the subcontinent, the area of the ancient seven rivers ( sapta sindhavaḥ ).   संस्कृत   (संस्कृतम्)   भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप   की एक भाषा है। इसे   देववाणी   अथवा   सुरभारती   भी कहा जाता है। यह विश्व की सबसे प्राचीन भाषा है। संस्कृत एक हिंद-आर्य भाषा है जो हिंद-यूरोपीय भाषा परिवार की एक शाखा है। आधुनिक भारतीय भाषाएँ जैसे,   हिंदी ,   बांग्ला ,   मराठी ,   सिन्धी ,   पंजाबी ,   नेपाली , आदि इसी से उत्पन्न हुई हैं। इन सभी भाषाओं में यूरोपीय बंजारों की   रोमानी भाषा   भी शामिल है। संस्कृत में   वैदिक धर्म   से संबंधित लगभग सभी धर्मग्रंथ लिखे गए हैं।   बौद्ध धर्म   (विशेषकर महायान) तथा   जैन मत   के भी कई महत्त्वपूर्ण ग्रंथ संस्कृत में लिखे गए हैं। आज भी हिंदू धर्म के अधिकतर   यज्ञ   और   पूजा   संस्कृत में ही होती हैं।   भीम राव अम्बेडकर   का मानना था कि संस्कृत पूरे भारत को भाषाई एकता के सूत्र में बाँध सकने वाली इकलौती भाषा हो सकती है, अतः उन्होंने इसे देश की आधिकारिक भाषा बनाने का सुझाव दिया था। [2] [3]   [4] भारत के संविधा...
